Gloss improvement and easier maintenance
Professional ceramic protection for suitable vehicles within our service radius. Every vehicle is assessed first, and coating life depends on preparation, cure conditions and aftercare.
A ceramic coating is a liquid protective layer that bonds to your car’s paintwork and cures to a hard-wearing finish. It adds gloss, helps water and dirt run off, and makes the car quicker to wash. It is not armour: our coatings are not stone-chip, impact or scratch proof.
AquaGleam applies car ceramic coating as a mobile service from our S66 base, covering Rotherham and qualifying parts of Sheffield and Doncaster. There are three packages, giving up to 1, 3 or 5 years of protection.
Whether it is worth it depends on how long you plan to keep the car. We’ve set out the honest pros and cons of ceramic coating.
Long-lasting protection for your vehicle
Shields your vehicle against harmful UV rays, oxidisation, and environmental damage. Keep your paint looking fresh for years to come.
Water and dirt slides off easily thanks to the hydrophobic properties of ceramic coating, keeping your vehicle cleaner for longer.
Reduces washing frequency and makes cleaning easier. Spend less time washing and more time enjoying your vehicle's showroom shine.
Machine polishing can improve gloss and reduce suitable light defects. Results depend on paint depth, defect severity and safe correction limits.
Professional ceramic coating application for lasting protection
We will remove embedded contaminants through a process of liquid and mechanical decontamination, leaving a blank canvas to work from, ensuring optimal coating adhesion.
Polishing is matched to the package and paint condition. The Essential package uses a single-stage gloss enhancement; correction packages aim to reduce suitable defects, not promise a flawless or scratch-free finish.
Finally, we lock in our work with the ceramic coating. This will enhance that 'glossy look' whilst providing a layer of protection for your vehicle.
A coating locks in whatever finish is underneath it, so preparation matters as much as the coating itself. Every package starts with a pre-wash, safe hand wash, tar and iron removal and a clay-bar treatment. The level of polishing then depends on the package and the condition of your paint.
Included in Essential – 1 Year Protection, for suitable newer or well-kept paint. One polishing stage improves gloss before the coating goes on. It is an enhancement rather than a full correction.
Included in Professional – 3 Year Protection, where safely achievable. A cutting stage and a refining stage reduce suitable swirls and light defects before the coating is applied.
Included in Ultimate – 5 Year Protection, where safely achievable, for paint that needs more work before our longest-lasting coating.
Paint correction reduces suitable defects; it cannot promise a flawless or scratch-free finish. Results depend on paint depth, defect severity and safe correction limits, so Professional and Ultimate are priced after an assessment. Substantial correction outside a ceramic package is quotation-only. Read more about one-stage and two-stage paint correction.
The ceramic coating price depends on the package and vehicle size, from £249 to £849. Protection periods are up to the stated term and depend on correct washing, maintenance and aftercare.

Maximum protection
Before booking: paint condition, safe correction limits and vehicle size must be assessed. Ceramic work needs a suitable indoor or fully sheltered workspace. Product-specific cure time, wet-weather restrictions and aftercare instructions will be confirmed before the appointment; the vehicle must remain dry for the stated initial cure period.
Vehicle-size guide: Small — Toyota Aygo/Fiat 500; Medium — VW Golf/Skoda Octavia; Large — Audi A6/BMW 5 Series; XL — BMW X5/Ford Kuga. Examples are a guide and the actual body style and footprint determine the category.
Each package protects for up to its stated term: 1 year for Essential, 3 years for Professional and 5 years for Ultimate. Reaching that term depends on the preparation, the initial cure and how the car is washed afterwards.
Essential takes around 4 hours to apply; Professional and Ultimate timings depend on the correction needed and are confirmed after assessment.
